The content bank: one folder that saves your week

When ideas and finished material go into one organised place, writing the week stops being a search. Three folders and a naming habit are enough.

Planning a week of posts is slow when the material is scattered: photos on a phone, ideas in three notes apps, a good screenshot somewhere in a chat. A content bank is simply one place where it all goes, so that when you sit down to plan, you are choosing, not searching.

Three folders

  • Ideas. One line each. A quote, a customer question, something you noticed. No format needed.
  • Ready. Finished pictures, video and captions, waiting for a date. Everything here could go out today.
  • Used. What has been posted, with the date. This is the archive, and the first place to look when you want to reuse something.

Habits that make it work

  1. 1Put things in the bank when you have them, not when you need them. A good photo on Tuesday is a post on Friday.
  2. 2Name files by date and subject, so they sort themselves.
  3. 3Keep one document of captions, with the best lines you have written.
  4. 4Once a week, clear the ideas folder: turn some into posts, delete the rest.

Why it also helps a team

A bank is also the handover document. A teammate, a freelancer or a client can open it and see what is ready, what is used and what is only an idea. Nobody has to ask where things are, and nothing lives only in one person’s head or phone.

How it connects to a scheduler

A scheduler is the step after the bank: take what is in Ready, choose the slot, queue it. If the bank is full, planning the week takes twenty minutes; if it is empty, no tool will save you.

Fill the bank on the good days. It is there for the days when you have nothing.

Stop watching the clock. Start drifting.
