A profile is the first page most people see, and it quietly goes out of date. A yearly clean-up is boring and nearly always finds something.
What people see
- The bio. Does it still say what you do?
- The link. Does it still open the right page?
- Pinned posts and highlights. Are the prices, dates and offers still right?
- The top of the grid. Would a stranger understand the account from the first nine posts?
What you can tidy
- Posts that mention a closed offer or a retired product. Archive or delete them.
- Tags and mentions of accounts that no longer exist.
- Old highlights nobody opens.
What you cannot see but should check
- Which apps and tools are connected. Remove any you no longer use.
- Who has access. Remove former employees and freelancers.
- Two-factor authentication and recovery details: are they current?
- A backup: do you have the originals of your best work somewhere else?
Write down what you found
A short list — what was wrong, what you changed — makes next year’s clean-up faster and shows what tends to go stale.
Do it on the same day every year, such as the first working day of January.
